The second is in John's Gospel, which says that Jesus raised him from the dead after several days. The gospel does not say anything about the second death of Lazarus, although it does say that the priests talked about having Lazarus killed (John 12:10). John's Gospel as a whole is loosely based on Luke's Gospel, and it can be demonstrated that this story of Lazarus was inspired by Luke's parable about the other Lazarus. Thus, even John's Lazarus was not a real person. John's Gospel does not say that Lazarus died, but there is nothing in the story to suggest that he would live forever.
