Answer 1

No. Mainstream Judaism teaches that the messiah is yet to come. Almost all Jews subscribe to this.

There are, however, some groups of Jews who accept Christ as messiah. One group is called Jews for Jesus. Many Jews regard them as Christians.

There are also groups of Christians who adopt Jewish customs and laws while retaining their belief in Christ. They are called Messianic Fellowships.

In some sense, early Christianity started as a sect in Judaism.

Answer 2

It depends on how you read the question.

"Christ" is merely the Greek word that corresponds to the English word "Messiah" and the Hebrew word "Moshiach". If you are asking whether Jews believe that Christ is the proper Greek translation of the word Moshiach (which is the one that Jews use), then yes, Jews believe that statement is valid. Jews do not often concern themselves with Greek translations if only because Greek was never a dominant religious language in Judaism while it was in Christianity.

If you are using the term "Christ" as a short-form for "Jesus Christ", then no. Judaism rejects Jesus as a Messiah since he failed to perform several requisite prophecies, including the following:

No Kingdom of God on Earth: Firstly, Jesus did not bring about the most important prophecies that the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) ascribes to the Messiah. He did not establish the Kingdom of God on Earth (otherwise God would actually oversee the world on a day-to-day basis).

Wars Have Continued: He did not end all wars; in fact, after his death, numerous wars were fought in the name of Christianity, religious divisions in Christianity, and attempts to Christianize non-Christians. If anything, it is a reversal of the prophecy.

Violence in Nature: He failed to fulfill the prophecy of the lion and the lamb, where the lion and the lamb are supposed to live harmoniously without predation.

Destruction of Jerusalem: The Messiah is also supposed to make the Temple at Jerusalem a beacon for all of the nations, not portend its destruction.

Dead Are Still Dead: Finally, the Messiah is supposed to resurrect the dead en masse (not just himself and a few random people who had been dead for a few days). The entire world is to be resurrected (except the wicked) and brought to the Kingdom of God. In this, Jesus also failed.

Do Jews and Muslims believe in the Second Coming of Christ?

Jews do not believe that Jesus is anything more than false Messiah and possibly a confused social reformer. Therefore, the idea that Jesus would return from the dead is absurd for them. As for the Messiah that they await, they believe he will come only once. Muslims do not believe that Jesus was ever crucified and that Judas Iscariot was actually the man who died on the cross. Jesus went into hiding and still lives to this day. He will eventually join with the Mahdi (or go at it alone depending on the Islamic school) and confront the Dajjal (Anti-Christ) in the End of Days. But since Jesus never dies between his original ministry and the End of Days, it is not a proper second coming.

Who was the messiah and why were the Jews waiting for him?

The Messiah, or Moshiach, is who we believe is going to bring peace to the earth. God promised to Abraham that the Messiah will come when we either:When we are following all the Torah's Laws, orAt the Jewish Year 6000 (Gregorian Year: 2240)Which ever one comes first.

How did the Jews see jesus?

Jesus was one of many young preachers claiming to be the messiah. He was not well known at the actual time of his death and so the majority of Jews would probably not have had an opinion on him at all. Jesus has never been relevant to Judaism. The Jewish messiah has yet to arrive; he will be a normal, mortal man and he must fulfill the 23 Jewish messianc prophecies before he dies. The only time Jews today ever consider or mention Jesus is when Christian Evangelists repeatedly demand to know 'why' we don't worship him. Jews are forbidden to worship any human, and we regard as blasphemy the idea that G-d would ever appear in human form. Thus Jesus has no role to play in Judaism. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How many profits in the bible claimed to be the messiah?

No true prophets claimed to be the Messiah other than Jesus Christ himself. False prophets may have claimed to be the Messiah, but no true prophets of God ever made such a claim.

What branch of Judaism did Jesus belongs to?

Jesus was Jewish and raised in the Jewish traditions. Can be found in; Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the [Mosaic] law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.ChristianityMost people claim that Jesus practiced Christianity. Truth is, He didn't. Jesus created Christianity, therefore how could he practice it? Meaning- Jesus Practiced Judeasm, because He was a Jew. The Life of Jesus and His morals as a person in Christ, however, are what Christians believe. We also believe that the messiah has walked the Earth. Jesus was the Messiah; Jews, however, believe that the messiah has never walked the Earth. So, if Jesus was the Messiah and was crucified, wouldn't you say that He walked the Earth? Jesus practiced Judaism because the Messiah hadn't walked the Earth until Him. Jesus was (and is) Jewish. Christianity came about because salvation was made available to the whole world, Jew and non-Jew alike. Jesus is the Jewish Messiah that the Jewish scriptures (the Old Testament) prophesied. Jews who recognize and accept Jesus as the Messiah (Messianic Jews) are saved. Believing in Jesus makes a Jewish person's faith complete. It doesn't take away from their Jewishness. The bible records that the disciples of Jesus (Yeshua) not Jesus (Yeshua) himself were first called Christians in Antioch (a Roman territory) by the Romans (not by fellow believers) in a bid to dehumanize the brotherhood of faith in torturous games of amusement. The Romans used the Sanhedrin under Herod's control to find and interrogate the Jewish movement directed by Jesus (Yeshua) and that is the main reason why none of the Jews trusted Paul (Saul) as he used to work for Herod's court as an agent of death and the Jewish body of believers feared Paul and would not listen to him unless Barnabus was present. Eventually Paul (not of the original twelve disciples) had to turn to Gentile audiences and their pagan traditions (the disciples of Paul were totally responsible for the formation of a divide in the Jewish faith that still permeates Christianity today with many divisions) which are the early rudiments of Christianity. Jesus (Yeshua) a practicing Jew who was a faithful steward of Judaism only! Christianity (a pagan religion developed in Rome from Paul's disciples) did not exist neither was it taught by Yeshua. Jesus's (Yeshua) only true religion was Judaism (Essene). There was never any such thing as Judaeo Christianity as all of the books of the bible are by Jewish authors only! The present bible was trimmed down by the Gentiles (Constantine the Great & Eusebuis) in a bid to Hijack Jesus (Yeshua) from Judaism as anti-Jesus teachings are paramount throughout Christianity! The early Christian movement in Rome became ant-Semitic and removed all Jewish elements from the early church.
