Being brought up in a Quaker family I feel that Quakers do not doubt that The Bible was divinely inspired. Most Quakers felt and feel that the Bible is a holy book that should be read to further your knowledge of a related religion. But, and this is a point that is commonly confused with the root of your question, most Quakers do not believe the words and how the Catholic church proclaims that they are true. This is often confused with not believing in the divinity of the Bible. I hope this helps answer your question and I thank you for taking an interest in a topic such as this.

What would be different if the Bible were not inspired?

If the Bible is inspired - then that's how it is. We believe it is inspired - none of the authors have said that they were inspired - that came later, and from other people. If the Bible is not inspired, we wouldn't know. So, nothing would be different.... with the actual book itself What "might" be different is how people regard the book. As it is, many people don't believe the bible to be inspired - and some of them disregard the book, others of them just look on it as a book containing incredible wisdom and life-advice.

What beliefs did Quakers hold?

Baptism - Most Quakers believe that how a person lives their life is a sacrament, and that formal observances are not necessary. Quakers hold that baptism is an inward, not outward, act. Bible - Quakers' beliefs stress individual revelation, but the Bible is truth. All personal light must be held up to the Bible for confirmation. The Holy Spirit, who inspired the Bible, does not contradict Himself.

The Bible was never discovered. It was written by men who were divinely inspired. Is the Bible a book sent by God?

Yes, the Bible itself claims to be divinely inspired or "God-breathed" (see 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17). Many believe that God divinely influenced human writers/authors of the Scriptures in His way making them His very words. It is referred to at times as 'mankind's instruction manual' in that it contains all necessary information for any diligent and desirous individual to find salvation.
