The devil is a religious concept. He is an aspect of religion, not the creator of it. In an effort to understand the world around them, humans applied supernatural characteristics to the things they saw everyday but couldn't understand or control. These things had a great deal of power over the lives of man--storms, earthquakes, landslides, volcanoes, wild animals, etc. It was natural to assume that these were the product of some will--whether wills of their own, or of some entity that controlled these things. In order to please or appease these 'entities' humans designed rituals that they believed would put them in good favor. These structures of rituals are religions. Humans created religions--and all the gods and devils that come with them.

Yes, there are some but it is an unknown number. The devil is identified as the evil one in several different religions and as such, there are many different forms of devil worship stemming from these different concepts of what or who the devil is. There are people that choose to worship the devil all over the earth and this includes Africa. There are some who would say that the various tribal and indigenous religions worship the devil but do not know they are. Either way, very few members of these types of religions would purposefully worship the devil but there are probably some that would just like there are for any other culture.
