True. Horticulturalists, as foragers, have an ideology of living as part of nature, rather than attempting to control nature. Their belief systems, animism, and shamanism highlight the notion of living with nature.

There difference is very subtle ! both belief systems are nonscientific and also provides a way for common people to tackle real hardships of the world. The major difference is scale of influence. If some powerful empire will follow a saman belief system and spread it across 1/3 of the world .. it'll become something like christanity. SO in that sense the belief systems which are regional with limited institutionalization are usually termed as shamanism.
Lamaism combines elements of Mahayana Buddhism and Tibetan Bon shamanism. It incorporates Tantric practices, rituals, and meditation techniques from both traditions.
Traditional Animism has not changed at all. This is because it is observation and experienced based over at least 60'000 years. Basically it is 60'000 years worth of experimentation into inducing an out of body experience using the safest method. IE drumming or sound resonance at specifically 2 beats per second. Other Animist cultures use plant extracts to induce them. New age Animism is well, new age and something completely different, often trying to incorporate aspects of quantum mechanics with intelligent design as explanation. While the science is a good thing in trying to understand certain phenomena. The only problem arises is their literal interpretation of the abstract and incorporating other belief systems into it. Mostly because of a misinterpretation of terms via the main religions, like 'spirit' for example. People naturally assume what they are referring to is in the religious organizations context of such terms, and not it's face value. :)
The Arawaks had a more centralized political system with a hierarchy of chiefs, while the Caribs were more decentralized with smaller independent communities. In terms of religion, the Arawaks worshipped nature spirits and had a complex system of rituals, while the Caribs focused more on ancestor veneration and shamanism. Both societies had unique systems that influenced their daily lives and interactions.

As to the question of Witchcraft, which is part but not all, of some but not all, of these spiritual paths, it is hard to say... Most people outside of a specific spiritual path do not understand or believe in practices of other spiritual paths.
