Witnesses believe that
''Enoch was "transferred so as not to see death," which may mean that God put him in a prophetic trance and then terminated Enoch's life while he was in the trance so that he did not experience the pangs of death. (Ge 5:24; Heb 11:5, 13)
However, he was not taken to heaven, in view of Jesus' clear statement at John 3:13. It appears that, as in the case of Moses' body, Jehovah disposed of Enoch's body, for "he was nowhere to be found."
Enoch was taken by translation because he walked with God and was faithful to him. He has not come back yet, but could be one of the two witnesses in Revelation during the Tribulation.
The Bible mentions individuals who received visions from God and they had a specific purpose. They showed a specific message or direction to be given or taken in order to accomplish his will or purpose. We now have the completed Bible so it would seem not needed since we have his will recorded in the scriptures.
Both the prophets that did not die are Elijah and Enoch.
According to religious texts, Enoch did not die but was taken up to heaven without experiencing death, a belief shared in the Islamic, Jewish, and Christian traditions. This event is often referred to as the "translation" or "assumption" of Enoch.
Enoch and Elijah are the two individuals in the Bible who did not experience death before going to heaven. Enoch was taken up to heaven by God, and Elijah was taken up in a whirlwind.
Words taken directly from the bible are best. Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe the individual was "taken by God to be an angel", they do no believe people have an alloted time on earth so they con't usually say his or her "time had come". Jehovah's Witnesses DO believe in a ressurrection, so the bible promises that the dead one will one day live again are acceptable.
Assuming that asker means Enoch from the story Things Fall Apart and not the Bible, Enoch fell ill with fever and eventually died, leading the tribe to believe that the Gods had killed him as retribution for killing the royal python.
According to the biblical account in the Book of Genesis, Adam lived for 930 years, and Enoch was born when Adam was 622 years old. Enoch lived for 365 years before he was taken by God. Therefore, there are 622 years from Adam to the birth of Enoch.
According to Genesis 5:23-24 "And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him." Which would make him 365 years old when he was taken. As far as "when" - If we take the chronology given in Genesis 5 we would have: Adam was 130 when Seth was born Seth was 105 when Enos was born Enos was 90 when Cainan was born Cainan was 70 when Mahalaleel was born Mahalaleel was 65 when Jared was born Jared was 162 when Enoch was born Enoch was 365 when he was taken Add all that up and assume a starting point of zero (0) for Adam and you would get Enoch being taken 987 years later (about 57 years after Adam expired) so Enoch could have known his dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and great-great-great grandfather.
In the Bible, Enoch and Elijah are the two people who are said to have never died. According to the Bible, Enoch was taken up to heaven by God without experiencing death, and Elijah was taken up in a whirlwind.
