Jehovah's Witnesses do not make a big deal about the words 'celebrate'; neither the word 'holidays'. If you will, we consider every day as a 'celebration' of life and of praising Jehovah God. To us, every day is a 'holy' day, I guess. Therefore we could answer both 'yes' and 'no' to the question.
In the days of the ancient Israelites, Jehovah designated some days as 'holy'. Jehovah designated how they were to be observed, right down to the details. Nothing came from anything pagan. Nothing was set up to honor 'humans' or anything else 'patriotic' from a human standpoint. Nothing was to honor Satan (like Halloween). Nothing was based on lies, as most of the things pertaining to Christmas & Easter (Santa; the date; the bunny laying eggs; the 3 'wise' men; the tree; the gift exchanging, etc).
Jehovah's Witness have 'fun' (celebrate) all the time. We give gifts, given un-'expected' (very different from the 'expected' gifts of birthdays & Christmas). We have parties; we have good times. And none of it has to be called a 'holiday' for us. We are very content and fulfilled. In fact, we're so content that simply the question's implication, offends us. But we are very pleased to provide an answer.
Since the days of ancient Israel, Christ Jesus has come, and gave his life in behalf of mankind. This is worth celebrating every day. We celebrate by preaching in the streets, and from one house to the next house; over & over again. Why can't others celebrate with us when we try to read from The Bible with them, we wonder; instead of trying to celebrate every other thing under the sun.
Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate holidays such as Christmas, Easter, and birthdays because they believe these celebrations have pagan origins and are not supported by the Bible. They focus on commemorating events such as the Memorial of Christ's death instead.
As a Jehovahs Witness, I can inform you that Jehovahs Witnesses as a group do not have any birthing rituals.
Jehovahs witnesses call fellow Jehovah's Witnesses brother or sister. We are all Jehovah's children and like any family would call their sibling brother or sister or by their first name we do the same within our brotherhood.
Jehovah's Witnesses only have one religious celebration, that of the Lord's evening meal (or last supper). On a personal level they celebrate any joyous occassion that is not connected with false worship. Jehovah's Witnesses thus celebrate marriages, births, graduations and any other number of occassions.
Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate holidays that they believe do not fit true Christianity. These include Christmas, Easter, and even birthdays. The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Christ did not command his birth - or any birth - to be celebrated; he just wanted his death to be remembered.
Jehovah's Witnesses do not participate in any religious, political or nationalistic holidays, events or traditions, so as to keep 'free from the world'' as Jesus Christ commanded. See James 4:4 in the Holy Bible.
No. She is a Jehovah Witness. She doesn't celebrate any holidays.
Nowhere. Jehovah's Witnesses follow both explicit bible law AND implicit scriptural principle. The selection of holiday parpicipation is principally the latter.
caddos holidays
Yes, there are some.
Nobody is obligated to celebrate any holidays. But it would be a nice occasion if we took the time to celebrate and understand cultures behind public holidays. Holidays are a way or spending time and following tradition to be closer to your family. So, if that is the case... then why shouldn't we celebrate holidays?
