It depends on local customs.
Muslim women in Western countries, and increasingly in the Arab World, want a Western-style wedding where the all of the main participants come up through an aisle of seated family members to approach the front of the room. However, while this works very well for a church, a mosque has no chairs, so these events typically take place in party-location, which the Imam visits to officiate.
In more traditional Islamic weddings, which also happen in party-locations, the bride and groom are seated in the front of the room before the blessings are said and visitors arrive.

Since the father of the bride walks the bride down the aisle, who else would do it?
Why didn't Prince William watch his bride walk down the aisle? Tradition. The groom is the last person to see the bride, and can only do so after she has completed the long walk down the aisle and is at his side. Since the aisle at Westminster Abbey is about 300-feet long, he had at least a four-minute wait at the altar.
