Muslim women in Western countries, and increasingly in the Arab World, want a Western-style wedding where the all of the main participants come up through an aisle of seated family members to approach the front of the room. However, while this works very well for a church, a mosque has no chairs, so these events typically take place in party-location, which the Imam visits to officiate.

In more traditional Islamic weddings, which also happen in party-locations, the bride and groom are seated in the front of the room before the blessings are said and visitors arrive.
