There are no " New covenant Jehovah witnesses"
Jehovah witnesses only observe the bread and wine once a year on the memorial of Christs death
According to the Jehovah's Witnesses bible study manual "What does the bible really teach" (see link below) Appendice page 207 paragraph 7 in answer to the question Who should partake of these Memorial emblems? it is stated:Logically, only those in the new covenant*-that is, those who have the hope of going to heaven-should partake of the bread and the wine. God's holy spirit convinces such ones that they have been selected to be heavenly kings. (Romans 8:16) They are also in the Kingdom covenant with Jesus.-Luke 22:29. ... What about those who have the hope of living forever in Paradise on earth? They obey Jesus' command and attend the Lord's Evening Meal, but they come as respectful observers, not partakers. [End Quote]
Jehovah's Witnesses do not accepted blood or blood products - they should have a form signed to say what other kinds of products they will receives such as platelets, and whether they will consent to certain processes such as dialysis. If the person is in a coma then their next of kin - Jehovah's Witness or not - should know what the patent's wishes are to some procedure's. Jehovah's Witnesses generally partake in no-blood surgery.
Jehovah's Witnesses commemorate the death of Jesus Christ as commanded by him to do at Luke 22:19. This is done annually on the date of Jesus death according to the ancient Jewish calander. We do also observe wedding anniversaries, but I am sure that is not what would be really regarded as a "holiday" by most people. No, there is not. Although there is the memorial of Christ's Death which is Commemorated on Nisan 14.
Jehovah's Witnesses do not observe a rite called "communion". Once per year we celebrate the death of Christ that is called the "Memorial of Jesus' death", as Jesus instructed @ Luke 22:19 "Do this as a memorial of me". Jesus was there instituting the celebration with his 11 Apostles who rule with him in heaven. At the "memorial" we also observe the part of the "Memorial" where Jesus passed the "bread & wine". Are there any partakers? Yes. The scripture at Romans 8:14-17 in part says: "The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are God's children", and...."heirs indeed of God". So only those whom the "spirit has borne witness" partake of the "bread & wine" emblems. It is a matter between them and Jehovah that they have the "heavenly calling" and therefore are of the "heavenly class" that Revelation 14:1-3 speaks of. Those who do not partake (the majority) have the hope of living forever on the earth after it is restored to paradise conditions described in Psalms 37:10 &11, also Revelation 21:3,4. Jehovah's Witnesses have NO '''rituals'''. The only practice that may be considered a '''tradition''' is actually commanded by Jesus in 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 and Luke 22:19,20 where Jesus initiated a new celebration on the Jewish Passover night. In these scriptures Jesus passed a cup of wine and a loaf of bread and instructed each one of the apostles to partake. The wine and bread were symbols of two new covenants Jesus made with his apostles "for a kingdom", where they would rule with him as kings and priests. He instructed them to do this "in remembrance of me". Since the "new covenant" replaced the "old (Mosaic) covenant" the annual Passover celebration would furthermore be replaced by the new tradition. Today, Jehovah's Witnesses refer to the practice simply as the "Memorial of Christs death" and celebrate it on the first full moon after the spring equinox, after sundown (the same time as the Passover was celebrated) annually. This is the ONLY celebration commanded in the Christian greek scriptures and it is open to all, as are all of our meetings. The next Memorial date will be Sunday April 17, 2011 in every country of the world, after sundown, local time.
There is nothing inherently wrong with going to a Casino, and this would be left up to each person to decide for him/herself. For example, a family event such as a wedding reception may be held in a banquet room in the casino. The problem is not with any certain building, but with the things that happen in that building. So, in accord with strong Bible counsel against greed, Jehovah's Witnesses do not gamble. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:9,10; etc) Therefore, one of Jehovah's Witnesses would not go to a casino to partake in gambling. Also, Jehovah's Witnesses take very seriously how their example would affect others. They are careful not to be stumbling blocks to others (Matthew 18:7; Phillipians 1:10), for example, by going to a casino. If this was observed by another, they may reason that Jehovah's Witnesses gamble just like anyone else. Therefore, one of Jehovah's Witnesses might seriously question whether they even want to enter a casino, and they would probably not make going to a casino a regular habit.
Christians and Jehovah's Witnesses both believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. However, Christians believe that Jesus Christ is one with God the Father (aka Jehovah). Meaning that Jesus Christ is in fact God himself in a human body. Jehovah's Witnesses believe the Jesus Christ is the son of God, but he is not God himself. There are other doctrinal differences but this is the main difference in belief. Both mainstream Christians and Jehovah's Witnesses claim to believe and follow The Bible, however there are marked differences between both groups. Mainstream Christians believe Jesus to be Almighty God while JW believe Jesus to be the Son of God (Luke 3:21-22) Mainstream Christians believe in a trinity (one God revealed in three ways: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) while JW believe there to be only One True God and Creator (Deut 6:4) Mainstream Christians believe the wicked are tortured forever in hellfire JW believe God is love and that eternal burning in hell is not a biblical teaching (Jer 7:21) Mainstream Christians rarely refer to God by his personal name (Yahweh/Jehovah) The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that God's name should be Sanctified, honoured and praised at every opportunity (Math 6:9) Mainstream Christians Generally do not have a practice of preaching the Gospel. Jehovah's Witnesses are well known for their public ministry (Math 28:19:20) Most mainstream Christians have no objection to participating in War or politics Jehovah's Witnesses insist on remaining politically neutral (John 15:19) Mainstream Christian religions teach the "immortality of the soul" Jehovah's Witnesses believe the soul can be destroyed (Matthew 10:2 Mainstream Christians usually have a human leader (a pope, an deacon, a Bishop) JW only recognise Jesus as their leader (Mat 23:10) Mainstream Christians have many pagan rituals incorporated into their religious rituals Jehovah's Witnesses reject all celebrations and ceremonies with pagan origins (2 Cor 6:15) Many mainstream Christians churches use a lot of idols in their worship and they venerate the cross. JW reject the use of idols (1 Cor 1:14) Mainstream Christians have a clergy/laity class of ministers JW consider all their members ministers and all partake in preaching and teaching (Matthew 23:9) There are other similarities and differences.
We were pleased to partake of their simple meal.
They decided to partake in the ceremony.
Jehovah's Witnesses are christians. We look only to Jesus Christ as our king and redeemer, the only mediator between God and man, and the only possible means of salvation. The door to door preaching work is done in imitation of Jesus and in obedience to his command to his true followers to preach.(Matthew 28:19,20) We view him as God's only begotten son as the Bible says he is, and look to him as our leader and the head of our christian congregation. FURTHER... While, contrary to some denominations, Jehovah's witnesses believe Jesus not to be Almighty God but god's son, we believe him to be of divine nature and having been with God in heaven prior to his life on earth, rightly identified as a god. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that it was by means of Jesus, that God created all things. So, they recognise Jesus as the "chief agent for life", saviour, King, model, and master worker in creation and feel it fitting and proper to be thus identified as Christians. FURTHER.... Improved Answer: Jesus Christ is the son of God and because of the death of Jesus Christ on a torture stake we have the chance for all of our sins to be taken away and to live in a paradise earth forever. He repaid the debt that Adam and Eve owed for their sin of disobeying Jehovah. Jehovah, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are not all under a trinity. God's Holy Spirit is his active force. Jehovah God is the most high over all the earth. (Ps. 83:18) Some Bible's have been completely changed to reveal something different and Jehovah's name has on occasion been totally removed. The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures is not our own Bible that we all of a sudden created, instead it is the Bible. "Christians" believe that when you die all good people go to heaven and all bad people go to hell. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the righteous ones that Jehovah chooses are the only ones who go to heaven which is 144,000 and that when you die you are simply sleeping in the grave until it is time to relieve you in a paradise earth.
The lamb symbolizes purity, innocence, and sacrifice in Christian tradition. It is often associated with Jesus Christ, referred to as the "Lamb of God" in the Bible, representing his sacrificial death and redemption of humanity. Christians often partake in lamb dishes on Easter as a symbol of this sacrifice and renewal.
