Everybody deserves human rights since we are all human beings. This is the only way that we can promote equal and fair treatment for all the people in our society.
The problem folks encounter when discussing this issue is agreeing on the definition of "human rights." To some, it means the basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter. To others, it means fundamental freedoms, education, health care, access to higher education, jobs, etc...and to some, it even means a telephone, computer, car, flat screen TV, and more. There is no universally accepted definition, so it is necessary to clarify what you include in "human rights" when trying to decide whether or not everybody "deserves" them.

In general, the animal rights movement is a social reform movement aimed as having animals viewed as equal to humans. Animal rights advocates generally believe that animals should not be used by humans in any way (even as pets), though there are "animal rights" advocates who do not hold quite that drastic a belief. Some animal rights groups actually believe more in animal welfare than animal rights.

All people who believe in freedom and equality support gay rights.
