Faith is FAITH: Full Assurance In The Heart. Belief is something different. When you believe in something, you believe, but you are not absolutely sure about your beliefs. And that belief doesn't translate into an action of faith. What is faith? It is belief in action. When belief grows, it becomes faith. When we have faith, we surrender, we surrender to the Divine will. We accept the Divine will. When we believe, we live with hope. HOPE is Having Only Positive Expectations but when we have faith, it means our belief has graduated, evolved, gone further and become stronger.

This is the short answer. Essentially by the power of God. We know that believing God by faith has always been the way to salvation. The book of Hebrews has a "faith" chapter, (Hebrews 11). These people believed God and their believing came to them by different means of what God had done or said to them. Romans 10:17, "So then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." People read or heard passages in the Old Testament which brought them to faith in God. Once God has given a person faith to believe in Him it is a permanent thing. They are held in God's hand forever. His power keeps us "hanging on".

Some would say that, out of the untold billions of stars in the universe, there should be many that can sustain intelligent life of some form. So, aliens probably exist out there, while belief in God is only a matter of faith.
believing in angels is one of the pillars of faith in Islam, so all Muslims believe in angels whether they are early or current Muslims.
I hope someone adds to this, but in my opinion there is only one question that you MUST have about faith. Do you believe or not? Faith is believing in what is not seen. So you either trust that it is true without tangible evidence and have faith or you don't. 1. Is the present day Christian Faith in harmony with the Christians of the New Testament? 2.Is your concept of Faith available to all individuals methodically and by expression? 3.Is personal faith based on objective faith? 4. Are the symbols of one's faith meaningful?
Well, having intelligence about your faith is definitely important. So, really, having intelligence is a great factor of your faith. (How much you know about your religion, etc.) Having intelligence primarily and just school wise is not important toward your faith that I know of.
In the scriptures, faith is translated from the Greek word Pistis. It appears as faith, believing, faithfulness, believe, entrusted with, entrust, faithful, and trusting. It also varies grammatically, appearing as a noun, verb, or adjective. Whether describing a child's obedience or Christ's accomplishments, the essence of faith is that it is always connected to and indicative of a person's actions. An in-depth study of faith and its nuanced categories is a meaningful and worthwhile endeavor. The most prevalent kind of Bible faith, believing, is a worthy starting point in our studies. Believing originates in the mind and results in corresponding action. It is either positive or negative, and it appropriates results. Hebrews 11:1 (literal) "Now believing [pistis] is the title deed to things prayed for, the evidence they are yours before they are seen." Find the promise of God… believe… and you'll receive it. It is said that God calls His people believers because that's what He expects of us. We please God by believing His Word. Although the topic of believing is only one Bible kind of faith, we see that it is a vast subject. Believingly, you are inspired to further in-depth study. Finally, let's enjoy a verse that contains believing [pistis] as both a noun and a verb. Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith [pistis] it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe [pisteuo] that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
If you don't believe in faith, you don't believe in anything; faith is the seed of belief. Believing is taking a risk, choosing to have faith, and seeing where it takes you. If the path is a good one, then your faith and your happiness will grow.
