No, He (P.B.U.H) never did. If He (P.B.U.H.) had given Azaan, everyhting in the universe had come to offer Namaz.
Bilal bin Rabbah
In my opinion, to allow people to make azan with they rhythm that is available to them and/or it is preferred the one giving azan be different than the one leading Muslims in praying. Azan means to call. Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) never gave azan because if he'd call for the prayer, every creature of the universe would gather there to pray and obey his command. Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) was sent as an apostle for the whole universe therefore, this reason is legitimate.
He is a Bilal, a slave freed by Prophet Muhammad In Madina Munawara Hazrat Ibn-i-Maktoom ( RU), a blind companion of the Holy Prophet (May peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) was also a Moazzan. Note: It is requested that the names of holy Prophets and Companions of the Holy Prophet (May peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) should be shown respect and they should be followed by (AS), and (RU) respectively. We, the Muslims, do believe in all the Prophets. We respect and love them all. For me Hazrat Christ (May Peace of Almighty be upon him), Hazrat Musa-Moses (May peace be upon him) ... all deserve reverence of the highest degree. They were the chosen ones, sent by God for the guidance of mankind.

The first azan, known as "Fajr azan," is given before the Fajr (dawn) prayer time to announce the beginning of the time for the first prayer of the day. It signifies the transition from the pre-dawn period to the time for prayer. It is called out by the muezzin from the mosque to notify the community about the approaching prayer time.
