Nikah is valid if the man was a Muslim and both the man and woman entered into the marriage with free consent. If afterwoods one party reverts to disbelieve this is grounds for divorce. It would be best to speak to a senior Muslim in your community to ask advice. May Allah guide you and help you
In Sunni Islam there are four Imams, for four schools of thought. Imam Abu Hanifa, imam shafi, imam malik and imam hanble. Follow any one of these imams and you will not be led astray.
Do you mean 'Nikah'? Nikah has certain regulations and rules. Eg. A man says to another man " I give my daughter to you " and the other man replies " i accept" in front of the the girl then this is accepted. For a Nikah to be valid there has to be two males or one male and two females. If there is no male then it is not valid. If one of them is immature it is not valid. The marriage cannot happen unless the boy and girl getting married want to. I hope this helps you.
