To put on ihram properly for Hajj or Umrah, one must first make the intention to enter the state of ihram, then perform a ritual bath (ghusl) and wear two white, seamless garments. Men should wrap one garment around their waist and the other over their shoulders, while women can wear any modest, loose-fitting clothing. It is important to avoid using scented products and to recite the talbiyah ("Labbaik Allahumma labbaik") to signify readiness for the pilgrimage.
The Ihram is a special garment worn by Muslims when they enter a state of spiritual purity to perform the rituals of Hajj and Umrah. The purpose of wearing Ihram in Makkah, or at the Miqat (the designated point to assume Ihram), is both symbolic and practical, marking the beginning of the sacred journey. In essence, the Ihram is not just a piece of clothing, but a state of mind and heart. It's about stepping into a sacred environment with a pure soul, ready to connect with Allah through prayer, worship, and reflection.
Two white untailored sheets of cloth are required to put on during Hajj and Umrah. But after completing Umrah or hajj, the pilgrims put on routine clothes while performing Tawaf and saying prayers.
Gents/men put on two untailored sheets of white cloth called Ahraam while performing Umrah or Hajj. They, however, put off Ahraam after performing Umrah and Hajj. They may put on normal every day dress during their stay at Makka Mukarma and can perorm Tawaf.
The place that Hajj starts is the place where you enter the state of Ihram. Ihram is a sacred state in which a Muslim has to be in to perform the Hajj. In this state, a Muslim is forbidden to cut their hair, nails, wear perfume, have sexual intercourse, kill animals, or cut down trees. Because there are 3 different types if Hajj, there are different places where you put on ihram, which means there are different places where Hajj starts. For Hajj tamatu', the hajj starts from the moment and place you leave to Minna. For hajj Qiraan and Ifraad, a person puts on ifraad at the meeqat, which are points before entering the doors of Makkah. However, there are specific DESTINATIONS as the first place where Hajj starts for a person. For the one who does Hajj Tamatu', the first destination is Minna. For the ones doing Hajj Ifraad or Hajj Qiraan, the first destination is the haram, or where the ka'bah is located.

Ihram, two sheets not sewn together, wrapped around a muslim's body. They wear it to Hajj, their religious pilgrimage. Ihram is preferred to be white, and the lower part of ihram is referred to as Izar, and the top part as Rida.
The dress the Muslims put on during Hajj is called Ihram. It consists of two untailored white sheets of cloth. One sheet is tied round the waist and the other covers the upper part of body excluding head. When in Ihram, the Haji is restricted to avoid certain acts which are lawful otherwise.
When you enter the Miqat-the area declared holy, and only the Muslims can enter that area, you should be in Ihraam. If you fly direct to Jadda airport you should put on Ihraam from the place of departure becuase your plane will circle over that area before landing.
There are certain rules must Muslims observe during the hajj. Some of them include reciting Talbiya, taking a bath to show purity, put on ihram which is the right outfit for hajj and so many other things.
Nothing. Hajj is obligatory on every Muslim man and woman once in lifetime if they can afford. They are not supposed to put any thing above their door after returning from Hajj or after offering prayer in the mosque.
