Shiva, the Hindu god, is typically believed to have one wife, Parvati.
Shiva's wives were Parvati, Sati, and Shakti. Parvati is the most well-known and is considered the ideal wife and mother. Sati was his first wife who sacrificed herself in a fire. Shakti represents the feminine energy and power in the universe. Each wife plays a significant role in Hindu mythology, symbolizing different aspects of femininity and power.
Sati is the practice of self-immolation, or burning yourself to death. It comes from Hindu mythology. The story of Dakshayani (Sati) and her marraige to the god Shiva. Some classic examples are the protest satis. Wives (widows) will often burn themselves to death to follow their husband and aid him in the afterlife.
In India, as per the Hindu Marriage Act, polygamy is considered illegal.
Greek mythology is the lore of the ancient people of Greece; there were separate city-states and kingdoms that had differing lore, this is why "Zeus" had so many affairs, because the wife of the local god became the lover/wife of "Zeus" in later myths. Zeus and Poseidon are known to have many 'wives' or 'brides' according to mythology for that reason; most were later regarded as affairs between the god and goddess/mortal.
Look, I know this is not a straight answer to your question..but Hindu gods are nothing more but a literature. Nothing more..
U can have 4 wives according to the bible
The fact actually is, that according to the Hindu scriptures, a Hindu can have more than one wife. It was only in 1954 that the Indian Constitution passed a law, as the Hindu Marraige Act that a Hindu can marry only one. Otherwise before that polygamy was allowed, so that means the Indian Constitution has made it illegal, whereas the Hindu scriptures permit it.

Vishnu and shiva are part of the universal holy trinity with vishnu being the preserver, shiva being the destroyer, and brahma the creator. vishnu is said to have no beginning and the same thing with shiva but there are different versions to there births. They are similar because they worship eachother and they are part of the trinity. They are different since their functions are different and vishnu takes mortal form. Also they have different wives. There have been debates about which one of them is stronger but there was a story that cleared this. One day sati, shiva's first wife, killed herself since her father daksha made fun of shiva. Shiva got pissed and created veerbhrada. Daksha ask vishnu for help but vishnu said if he and shiva were to fought with their destructive powers, the whole universe will be reduced to nothing implying that they are equally matched in power
