When two MMA fighters practice together, it is commonly referred to as "sparring." Sparring is sparring. I do Zen9 Martial Arts Australia. I am a black belt in that and Zen Chi Ryu. I've been doing Mixed Martial Arts for 7 years now and as far as I know it is the same. A controlled practice fight where you show off your technique and moves for judges or for practice. I hope this helps, if you need any more info just send me an email, Thanks :) From aogilvie333@gmail.com
Practice, practice, PRACTICE. Also what helped me was practicing everything to music that had a strong rhythmic beat to it....really! Experience is important. And practice the basic moves, not the showy ones. Most important is to learn to be relaxed during sparring. Here is how. http://sparringtips.blogspot.com/
