When it became clear to them that doing the will of his Father meant his trial and death, they all ran away, (Matthew 26.56). And we all are no better. That is why we all need the Holy Spirit to transform us.
Yes when the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray . He then taught them the OUR FATHER.

In John 17:6-19 is Jesus' prayer for His disciples.
