In the Gospels of Matthew and Mark, Jesus reacted with despair that God would allow this to happen to him (Mark 15:34): "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
In Luke's Gospel, Jesus simply accepted the punishment with resignation, finally saying (23:46): "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit."
In John's Gospel, Jesus reacted with the dignity of someone who was divine and pre-existing, therefore who knew from the beginning exactly what his mission was and knew that it would end in this manner, saying merely (John 19:30): "It is finished."
