The account of Joseph revealing himself to his brothers is recorded in Genesis 45. Scripture says little of their immediate reaction, other than verse 3:

Then Joseph said to his brothers, "I am Joseph; does my father still live?" But his brothers could not answer him, for they were dismayed in his presence. [NKJV]

The word translated "dismayed" (the King James version uses "troubled," and the NIV says "terrified") has a wide range of meaning, including: "to disturb, alarm, terrify, hurry, be disturbed, be anxious, be afraid, be hurried, be nervous."

Considering their prior treatment of Joseph, that they were speechless because they were "terrified" seems apt.
