Hope was martyred along with her sisters Faith and Charity sending her soul immediately to heaven. (And yes, someone... specifically, Saint Sophia the Martyr... really did name her daughters Faith, Hope, and Charity.)
Faith, Hope and Charity
Faith, Hope and Charity were the purported children of Sophia.
Faith was the daughter of St. Sophia who was martyred, along with her sisters Hope and Charity in the early years of the Church.
Legend says that Saint Sophia had three daughters, Faith, Hope and Charity, who were martyred.
As Saint Paul tells us in his letter to the Corinthians, "Faith, hope and charity, these three remain, but the greatest of these is charity."
As Saint Paul tells us in his letter to the Corinthians, "Faith, hope and charity, these three remain, but the greatest of these is charity."
I believe you mean the Patron Saint of Hope, that is St. Jude, who is the saint for hopeless causes and desperation. Hope was martyred along with her sisters Faith and Charity sending her soul immediately to heaven. She is a saint but not a patron saint.
Faith = Cross Hope = Anchor Charity = Heart
They are the 3 Christian martyed saints
Her mother was Saint Sophia and her sisters were Saint Hope and Saint Faith. The three girls were martyred and her mother died a few days later of a broken heart.
There is little known about Saints Faith, Hope and Charity or their mother Sofia. In fact, they may not have ever existed but are simply characters in an ancient allegory meant to teach a lesson. She is not a patron saint.
