The main difference is that the Church of England believes that Holy Communion is only a symbol, whereas the Roman Catholic Church believes that it is really Jesus present in the bread and the wine (which is turned into the Body and Blood). Another difference is that some Church of England vicars will allow remarriage, although, this depends on the vicar. The Roman Catholic Church will not offer remarriage and do not allow it.


As a church goer, I would dispute the above answer, Jesus is the bread and wine, just the same as the Catholic church. Other differences are that you can confess to sins in the RC church and be absolved, whatever you have done, you are not allowed to take contraception measures , or get divorced or have an abortion, and RC priests cannot marry. Just a few of the differences .
