How do Christians help people who are suffering?

As an Ethiopian Orthodox tewahedo believer i really am proud to say that the church has a cure for every disease including AIDS and cancer with a holywater . But it works for those who really believes on it..... Go and check it out

i doubt that very much as a woman of science i feel i need to reassure you there is no cure for AIDS and cancer is treated at a hospital although it could be a coincidence

OpinionChristians can help other people just as non-Christians do - by providing help, whether financial or in kind, or just being there to listen and comfort in times of need. Christians often have a greater tendency to preach Christian values than to practise them. By leaving aside the perception that people in need should be told that Christians believe in helping others, but by actually doing so, a great deal can be achieved.

That question is a very deep and sensitive topic. I would strongly recommend talking to someone you trust for specific advice. In a general over look there are a few things you can look at including prayer, being there, and getting aid to that person. Again these are more of every situation answers than specific answers.

The first thing I mentioned was prayer. You are always welcome to bring your petitions before the Lord and are encouraged to do so by the Apostle Paul. This can bring spiritual healing, and sometimes a physical healing (no promises though). Also just being there can help a person a lot. You don't have to do much with someone who is hurting, and your presence alone will leave them feeling loved and cared for. It is a great gesture and may end up forming a good relationship with that other person. The last thing was getting aid for that person. For those who are physically, spiritually, or mentally ill getting them to someone who can help them is a good idea. Examples are pastors, counselors, or doctors.

There will always be hurting people out there, even if they are not showing it. There are many situations that require help and no one answer can solve all problems. This is just a list of general things you can always do for someone who is hurting. God bless you friend and keep doing your best to live for Him.
