How do Muslims welcome a new born baby?

There are various customs. Some people (like christians) shower the mother with presents, only after the birth. Sometimes people do it all at once. Sometimes they do it one by one. Sometimes they throw a party. Sometimes they don't. It depends on the family's traditions.

The Muslims thank Almighty Allah on the birth of a baby. They wash it. They recite Azaan in its right ear and Aqamat in its left ear. They shave its head after 7 days. Give some money in charity. Invite relatives and the poor to a feast caled Aqeeqa. They slaughter two goats for a baby boy and one goat on the Aqeeqa of a baby girl. They also distribute sweets among the poor and the relatives.
