Matthew's version is similar, but adds the elaboration of Peter walking out onto the water, proving his faith. More than any of the other gospels, Matthew sets out to honour the apostle Peter.
John's version says that after the feeding of the 5000, they wanted to take Jesus by force and make him king, so he escaped up into the mountain.
