Well, using Christianity as an example, Science contrasts with it in the sense that science methods require concrete evidence to prove something, whereas, religion or belief can just be made up and printed into a book and everyone believes it (if you know what I mean).
For example, The Bible states that bats are birds simply because they have wings and can fly, but Science (Biology) proves that birds are in fact mammals and mammals differ from birds.
This is also why most firm Christians' hate Science :L
By providing scientific evidence for alternative beliefs.

The Enlightenment movement supported the belief that reason and scientific methods could be applied to the study of society. Enlightenment thinkers like Voltaire and Montesquieu emphasized the importance of rational inquiry and empirical evidence in understanding social and political issues.
scientific belief is just a belief where scientific reasons where added, summarized and concluded. and yet, scientific beliefs are not yet proven effectively.
In certain belief systems, Lucifer is considered the saint of hell.
The basis in identifying whether a belief or practice is based on science and technology is just looking at its features and attributes. Anything that relies on scientific methods will definitely fall under science and technology.
Monotheism is the belief in only one god Polytheism is the belief in many gods :)
Belief systems are what people believe about the world and/or religion. It is the organization and structure of the way a person thinks the world works.
Religions are belief systems created by humans to explain the meaning of life, the universe, and our place in it.
Faith. Belief.
wether it is or not. but techinally it is scientific if it is proven by the scientific method.
Like all symbols of belief systems it is as strong as your belief in it.
