That, you will have to ask an institution that gives out those degrees. Details vary from one institution to another. A generous contribution might help, or some other special service rendered to an institution. The Bears' Catalog has a chapter dedicated to honorary degrees; that might help - as might the corresponding website.
Please also look up what an "honorary degree" actually means, and decide whether you want to take the trouble to get actually get one - since it is really not worth much. At least, it doesn't mean that you actually did religious studies, in this case.

An honorary degree or a degree honoris causa is an academic degree for which a university or Church such as the Universal Life Church World Headquarters has waived the usual requirements. Degrees from a Church must be Church related in nature for example; a Doctorate of Divinity, a Doctorate of Biblical Studies, a Doctorate of Theology and/or a Doctorate of Pastoral Care would all be considered Church related. Unfortunately some churches use this loophole within the law to make a buck and attempt to sell such degrees.
If you mean an honorary doctorate, you have to do something so outstanding that a degree-conferring institution will want to recognize and honor you for your achievements (and give credit to itself) by granting you an honorary Ph.D. degree.
The most common doctorate degree is the Doctor of Philosophy or Ph.D. The requirements for a doctorate typically entail completion of an undergraduate program, acceptance into a doctoral program, completing necessary coursework, comprehensive exams, and defending a dissertation.
Most people don't write their honorary degrees or titles with their signatures. The degree would be typewritten after the name in the signature block.
When signing your name with an honorary degree, you can include the abbreviation of the degree after your name. For example, if you received an honorary doctorate of laws, you can sign your name as 'John Doe, LL.D.' or 'John Doe, Doctor of Laws (honoris causa)'. Make sure to confirm the correct abbreviation with the institution that awarded you the honorary degree.
