How do you know if you have prophetic gifts?

According to scripture a New Testament Prophet is someone who exercises the gift of prophecy as set out in the book of 1 Corinthians 12:10. Scripture says that God confirms His Word so if someone claims to be a New Testament Prophet but what they are saying is not confirmed in the Word of God then it is appropriate to be dubious. Real prophets magnify God. In our experience all believers can flow in all the gifts of the Holy Spirit including the gift of prophecy as set out in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10. All believers can lay hands on the sick and command the sick healed in the Name of Jesus.

The dictionary describes a prophet as "Someone who speaks by divine inspiration; someone who is an interpreter of the will of God". One must be sure that a person is a prophet by having it confirmed to him by the Holy Spirit. Many false prohets can misguide a person into believing that they are called of God, but the Devil has his angels also. The work of a prophet was to act as God's messenger and make known God's will. The message was usually prefaced with the words "Thus saith Lord."

A prophet is not so all of the time but only when required to be so. When the Lords speaks through His prohet, the Holy Spirit will testify that the words so said are true.
