Some opinions on identifying a Biblical church
  • None. The word church was derived from the German kirche. The word circle also originated from it. The actual origin of the word was Circe. Circe is the goddess of sorcery. She is also identified as the Queen of Heaven. The greek word ekklessia is actually transliterated as congregation in English. Since, the authors of The Bible are Jews , they would have meant the Hebrew word shul or synagogue. example. Yokanan of the Book of Revelation would have meant the Shul or Synagogue of Philadelpia. They were not gentile nor "church-Christian" congregations. They were Messianic Jewish Congregations. Rabbi Shaul and Yokanan never preached outside the milieu of the Jewish community although Shaul was willing to impart the Gospel of Israel to the gentiles who were willing to listen. The church is described as Babylon the Great. The Apostate faith who killed the Prophets and the Saints of Israel. You'd probably say the Jews did that. The Jews who carried out some of the killings themselves were contaminated by the faith of Queen of Heaven. Many of the Leadership of Israel were secrectly worshipful of the Lady / Madonna. You'd probably say they were Christian saints. The writers of the Bible, including the N.T. are Jews, Torah-keepers of the faith of Israel. As far as any Jew is concerned a Biblical Saint is a Devout Torah-Observant Jew.To an Englishman, a hero of the British History is an Englishman, a loyal Englishman. This pattern of ownership of identification is found in any nationality, creed, race or political inclination.
  • The answerer above probably deviated from the real meaning of your question by getting technical with the meaning of the word "church." His definition of "church" shouldn't be disputed, because he is right about the definition and the original words. But I don't think you were looking for the origin of linguistics. I am going to try to address the spirit of your question, which I believe is simply, how do you know what religion is correctly established in the Bible. Here is what is boils down to: you must compare the scriptures for yourself, against what the religions are teaching. That is a personal decision, and one that must be done with the help of God through earnest prayer. There is a scripture in the Bible at Ezekiel 34:11 that says :"For this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: "Here I am, I myself, and I will search for my sheep and care for them." So the Bible says that God is searching for those who want to serve him, his sheep. If we search and pray for help in that search, God will not let us down. There is a parodox throughout religions who claim to follow scripture. They all claim to base their beliefs on the same Bible, yet they have all manner of different teachings. Some teach there is a burning hell, others don't. Some teach that God is a trinity, others don't. And there are thousands of different teachings that some religions teach, and others teach against. There is only one Bible and one true God. The Bible even says at Ephesians 4:5 that there is only "one Lord, one faith, one baptism," so all these religions can't be right according to the Bible. If you are truly searching for the religion that is based on scripture, you should pray to God to help you earnestly search for the truth. Then, when examining a particular religion, see for yourself what the Bible says. Ask members and/or leaders of that religion to show you in the Bible where their beliefs originate. For example: On the issue of the trinity, ask them to show you from the Bible why they teach what they do about that. If you earnestly search, you are sure to find.
  • As mentioned above, you need to pray for God to direct you to the right church. Just as all Christians are not the right ones to marry, so there are differences in churches. I always recommend you attend a prospective church at least a month as often as you can to see what God shows you. If the preacher is expounding out of a book instead of the Bible that is a warning sign they are not going to be spiritually alive as a church, and you should look elsewhere. Do you feel welcome there? Some churches are really friendly toward visitors while others are as cold as ice. Do you detect variances in doctrine that make you uneasy? Sometimes you can get a sensation like something is not right with what is being said. That is why you need to know your Bible so you can discern when someone is giving you the wrong information. It is usually not a good idea to get involved in a ministry right off in a church. Just as in marriage, you need time to adjust to your new environment before you decide where God wants you to minister. Our church has a 6 month time limit to let people get used to what is going on then if they are faithful in attendance etc., they may be asked to do something like this. In Bible School we were taught to look for the greatest need and try to fill it with God's help. So you need to think about what God wants you do with your life, not just what others want you to do. Otherwise we can get so distracted from God's purpose for us and become so busy that we don't have time to do what He wants us to do. These are just a few things to think about.
  • One time we went to a Baptist church we thought was alright at first. One night we were invited to someone's home for dinner with one of the elders. They talked about their belief of the Big Bang Theory of evolution. So we knew this was not the right church for us by that. So you have to keep your spirit tuned up and prayed up so you will be able to make the right decision. Because if you get in the wrong church it will make you degrade spiritually.

'where in the scripture it says carry the Bible to church'?

I do not remember any place in the bible where it says to carry your bible to church. This is because when the scriptures were written, there was no bible per-say. The bible as we know it, was not put together until much later. That being said, it is always good to bring your bible to church, to follow the individual giving the sermon, and to check out the accuracy of the teaching.

Is sabbath a practice or custom?

In the way someone tells you it's right to go to church on a Sabbah and you go just because they tell you is a custom. For other people they go to Church and practice the Sabbath because they read in the Bible and know for them selves that it is right, that's a true practice.

With Bible and Only Bible. Some women think that the Bible doesn't say anything about them and leadership. The Pastor of that church is the head of that church and all women and other men need to fall in behind him. Ask God for the right words and he will give them to you.

What do Christians believe the church has a right to say about the Bible?

One opinion:Many Christians would maintain that only the Bible has a right to say about the church, not the other way around. When a church "filters" the Bible through its own (manmade) doctrine, the only possible result is unscriptural error.Matthew 15:9 - And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
