How do you prove an atheist wrong?

The existence of God (or gods) can neither be proven nor disproven. Therefore, you cannot prove that an atheist is incorrect. Such an action (asserting one's own religious opinion onto another) is considered taboo in modern culture and is generally looked down upon.

That depends on what you're arguing about. If you're arguing as a "Christian" and the point of the argument is demonstrate that Christians are right, you've already lost because true Christians do not argue because Jesus did not argue. Simply put I'm a "Christian" but these days that is as vague as saying I am human. You just have to listen and try to understand their point of view if you expect them to even listen to yours.

If the question is "How do I argue and win?" on topics of theology you are pretty much lost as most atheists have been putting up with Christians' "Deal breaker questions" for a long time and have come up with reasonable answers.

If you are arguing about the best sports team, porn star, bicycle or anything else bring lots of real facts, the kind that have science behind them.

An atheist would be proven wrong if solid scientific evidence of a god were proven. This would not include any of the fallacious arguments usually pulled out by theists (such as "The Bible says ..." or "Everyone knows that ..."). Essentially the god shown to exist would have to jump through hoops in a scientific test - this of course would make the "god's" omnipotency very difficult to support.
