This is not an objective question. I will writing the answer from my point of view.
Being an orthodox Jew is a 24/7/365 "job". The Torah(which is know as the five boos of moses) is the guideline of a Jews life. The Torah is the word of Hashem (G-O-D) and it obligates any Jew in 100%.
A Jew sees his life as a mission from Hashem. As it is said in the Tora: "ועתה אם שמוע תשמעו בקלי ושמרתם את בריתי והייתם לי סגלה מכל העמים כי לי כל הארץ: ואתם תהיו לי ממלכת כהנים וגוי קדוש אלה הדברים אשר תדבר אל בני ישראל" ("Now therefore, if ye will hearken unto My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be Mine own treasure from among all peoples; for all the earth is Mine; and ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel." Exodus 19:5-6).
A Jew is busy all his life to combine and integrate the spiritual and moral level of the world with the material and physical world. a few examples:
- The first thing a Jew does every morning is to thank Hashem for the pure soul he gave him.
- A Jew is obligated to love any fellow Jew as he loves himself. Of course a Jew is forbidden to harm any man in any way.
- Before and after a Jew eats he says a Beracha (a blessing and Thanksgiving to Hashem) for the food he gave him. A Jew must always remember the world is not his, it belongs to Hashem. Hashem permits man to live in his world as long as he is righteous enough.
- A Jew is not allowed to speak ill about any fellow Jew.
- All Jews are obligated to learn the Torah so they will know the right way in life.
- All Jew must rest from all work and acts of creation on Shabbat (the seventh day of rest) . This reminds us every week that Hashem created the world (because he to stopped all creation on the seventh day of creation as well). The world isn't ours, we are only gusts here. This also gives a man time to pause from material life and look into the Torah and the more spiritual level of life.
These are only examples bat there are many many more.
