If you mean naturalism the philosophy, then that really depends on the family. Since naturalism depends on science, fact, observation, and rational thought--the effect on the family should be very positive. The children will be given better thinking skills because they haven't been taught to rely on supernatural forces to help them understand life. Naturalists appreciate nature, children of naturalists might be more interested in what's outside the house than what's on the television. Of course, this depends on the family, just because you're a naturalist doesn't mean you care to actually be outside. It just means that you believe in the laws of nature and not the power of supernatural beings.
Naturalism did not effect society: society was long in existence before naturalism . Naturalism is having more of an AFFECT on society now; this is due merely to everyone's better awareness of their surroundings, and a better understanding of their local and global environment. It is, not surprisingly, as simple as that.

Naturalism means Nature Religions- wikipedia Naturalismcommonly refers to the viewpoint that laws of nature (as opposed to supernatural ones) operate in the universe, and that nothing exists beyond the natural universe or, if it does, it does not affect the natural universe.[1] Adherents of naturalism (naturalists) assert that natural laws are the rules that govern the structure and behavior of the natural universe, that the universe is a product of these laws.Neo-naturalism is a new nature religious movement like Neo-shamanism or neo-paganism.
Naturalism is the philosophical belief that all phenomena can be explained by natural causes without recourse to supernatural or divine intervention, while non-naturalism allows for the possibility of supernatural or non-natural explanations for certain phenomena. Naturalism tends to prioritize empirical evidence and scientific explanations, whereas non-naturalism may incorporate metaphysical or spiritual elements.
If naturalism = realism, it was founded in the Stone Age caves.
Metaphysical naturalism asserts that only natural phenomena exist, while methodological naturalism is a scientific approach that seeks to explain the world through natural causes and methods.
