The Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 6: 16, " Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that ones slave whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?"
Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden all person's have been born spiritually dead. They are at enmity with God (are haters of God). All persons who have not been reconciled to God by Jesus Christ are basically children of the devil. By being on the devil's side you obey him, you are a slave to him and you can not escape sinning. You are enslaved to sin.
When Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary He defeated Satan (Although there are still battles with Satan, he was defeated and doomed to the Lake of Fire.) Jesus' death has given all who accept Him as Savior, Lord, and King, freedom from sin. The Christian is not subject to death through sin and has the power to resist sin. We do not belong to the devil anymore and so we are not slaves to him, but we belong to Jesus and are slaves to Him. That is we are compelled to do everything for Him and His Kingdom with gladness.
I am not saying the Christian is not sinless because we do sin, but not in a habitual manor, and we confess those sins if need be on a daily basis (See I John 1:9). Also we use the power that we were given to keep us from many sins. When we sin it is not what we want to do, but the weakness of our flesh which served us when we were yet without Christ.
Christians are promised no pain, nor sorrow, etc when in heaven, but I rejoice that I will be rid of this body of sin when I am in heaven and will be completely clean of all sin.
