Indeed he is! Matt 3:16,17 tells us:

After being baptized, Jesus immediately came up from the water; and look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw God's spirit descending like a dove and coming upon him.17Look! Also, a voice from the heavens said: "This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved."So we see here The Bible gives is clear evidence that Jesus is God's Son.

Joseph is his earthly foster father, a caretaker who has earthly legal rights as a father. God the Father is his real Father.

God's one Church teaches and Scriptures include that Jesus is the son of God, that is the Son of the Father Who existed from all eternity, before the world and time were created. Jesus was God before His incarnation. Jesus is the only Person who has a true God nature and true Human nature. He is fully God and fully Man. He therefore has two wills, a Divine Will and Human Will. This was revealed by the Will of God. Jesus is God, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, which has existed for all eternity. The Blessed Trinity is One God in Three Persons, a union and communion of three Divine Persons. Joseph is Jesus earthly foster father, a caretaker with earthly legal rights as father.

Some say that Jesus was a great prophet or a good man. However, Jesus cannot be considered simply either. He came claiming to be God. So, He was either God, or a terrible blasphemer. No "good man" or "great prophet" would ever claim to be God. The Jews in authority at the time of Christ's ministry had him put to death strictly because Jesus claimed to be God, and they thought He was a very bad man and a danger to the body politic... but they were very, very wrong.

Many heretics have also denied that Jesus is God. Anyone who claims Jesus is not God is not a Christian. If you don't know that Jesus is God, then you don't know the Father either. To claim Jesus is not God, is ignorance of God.

Answer # 2

Good question. It can only be answered with understanding a few key points.

In the book of Matthew, in the initial chapter, you will find there the genealogy of Joseph, not Christ. This was important as it pointed out that Joseph was connected in perfect genealogy to David the king and the tribe of Israel known as Judah, which is the tribe that holds the right as the King line.

The second reading comes in the third chapter of the book of Luke, where you discover that Mary was of the tribe of Israel known as Levi. Levi was the tribe which earned their right as the keepers of the temple and the priests of the temple (house of Aaron). Mary was of the daughters of Aaron (Luke 1:5). In the book of Luke, you will also learn that Mary was impregnated by the Holy Spirit (Not by a Man Luke 1:35). Therefore Christ is the Son of our Father not some man. You also read that Joseph knew Mary as pregnant, before he married her (Matthew 1:20).

The marring of Joseph (Judah) and Mary (Levi), provided Christ with two titles, both the title of King of Israel (Judah) and High priest of Israel (Levi).

In Summary; Christ is the son of the Lord God of Israel, Joseph filled the role of his flesh Dad, as did his uncle Joseph of Arimathaea, who was a tin merchant, upon the death of Joseph who initally married Mary. The conception of Mary is referred by many as the immaculate conception, as its the only conception ever documented where the Holy Spirit was involved directly. This conception was foretold by our Father at the moth of his Prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 7:14), several hundred years before Christ was ever born of woman. (also Luke 1:35). Its important you understand that Christ was the son of our Father and not a man.

Jesus is the son of God

Answer:

The "inspired word" that's translated into the English word "God" in Genesis 1:1 [and throughout the Old Testament] is "ELOHYIM" [el-o-heem']: "PLURAL... GODS in the ordinary sense, but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative..." (Strong's Definitions).

"Elohyim" is, for the sake of the understanding of the finite human mind, GOD's FAMILY NAME!

In this world, most men don't think of God as "a family"... but, generally among those in the modern professing Christian community, as a confused [and confusing] grouping of three, who are somehow three separate individuals yet at the same time, "the same person" [???].

But a "Family" is exactly how the Bible, the inspired Word of God, portrays Him [Father, Son, etc]. Even Jesus, Himself, confesses:

"I and My Father are One." (John 10:30 KJV). Not: "I and My Father and the Holy Spirit are One"... but "He and His Father" the TWO OF THEM!

It is, of course, the deceptive workings of the god of this world that keeps mankind blinded to this all-important concept; since the plan of God revealed in the Bible is TO MAKE HIMSELF A DIVINE IMMORTAL FAMILY OUT OF MANKIND... that He created IN HIS IMAGE.

"...God said [Jesus Christ said; see John 1:3 - "All things were made by Him..."], LetUS make man inOUR image, afterOUR likeness..." (Gen.1:26 KJV).

When men think of "God"... they SHOULD be thinking of "God" as a "Family Name"... like "Jones" or "Smith" or "Brown."

The Bible talks about God's "household"... the "house of God." And so should Jesus' Father be thought of by men as THE HEAD OF HIS HOUSEHOLD... in which He has place the organization and running thereof in the capable hands of His Loving and Obedient SON!

So... "Is Jesus' Father God?"

Of course. In every sense that "Mr. Jones and his son are BOTH JONESES!"

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and His Father are BOTH GOD.

And they two are working toward the end of their plan to make of mankind MORE GODS -- MORE CHILDREN to one day be born into their FAMILY OF GOD. Jesus, praying to His Father, says:

"I AM praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in Me because of their testimony. My Prayer for ALL OF THEM is that THEY WILL BE ONE, JUST AS YOU AND I ARE ONE, Father - that just as you are in Me and I AM in you, so THEY WILL BE IN US, and the world will believe you sent Me. I have given them the Glory you gave Me, so that THEY MAY BE ONE, AS WE ARE - I IN THEM AND YOU IN ME, all being PERFECTED INTO ONE..." (John 17:20-23 NLT New Living Translation).

It's all a matter of Understanding who and what "God" is. "God" is a modern English word... not the inspired Word God chose to reveal Himself to man. "Elohyim" is God's Word of choice as His "Family Name."

Is Jesus God? Yes. Is Jesus' Father God? Yes. And so shall everyone who shall one day be BORN INTO THE FAMILY OF GOD one day BE A GOD. Just as "all of Mr. Smith's children are SMITHS!" The family of Smith is "one" as a family unit... and each one is A SMITH.

No, He is the Son. This relationship only began when the Word became flesh by God the Father's Holy Spirit begetting Him in the Virgin Mary. As John 1:1-3 tells us the Word or Jesus was always with the Father and will always be with Him.

When Mary got pregnant, God the Father made her get pregnant, she didn't get pregnant by another man. Therefore, Since Joseph didn't "know" Mary, this means that God is the Father of Jesus.
