People follow Jesus because they believe he is the embodiment of God and or Christ. Jesus is often idolized as the perfect example of how all humans should attempt to live their lives. Jesus never sinned and because of this God gave him powers to perform miracles. Therefore, Jesus was a pretty cool dude.
