How is the ultimate goal of a Muslim achieved?

There are many things to be done and responsibilities to be achieved, between daily prayers, social, family and personal responsibilities, fasting, giving of alms, helping the needy, etc...

The word Jihad, which by todays media has negative connotations, is related to the word Johd, which is effort. so Jihad; the act of exerting effort.

The energy to achieve has to start within one self and grow outwards.

The ultimate goal of a Muslim is to achieve nearness to Allah and attain Paradise in the afterlife. This is accomplished through following the teachings of Islam, performing the required acts of worship, and living a righteous life based on the principles of faith, compassion, and justice. Muslims strive to align their thoughts, words, and actions with the guidance of Allah as revealed in the Quran and exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad.
