The work continued for 7 years. 30000 laborers along with 70000 burden bearers who were alien residents, along with 80000 stone cutters. In 1026 BC Solomon dedicated the temple to Jehovah, and the Ark of the covenant was placed in the most holy compartment. The temple was destroyed in 607 BC by King Nebuchadnezzer of Babylon. So the temple stood for 419 years from dedication to destruction.

The temple was also neglected during this period, and King shishak of Egypt robbed the temple in 993 BC.

Second Temple

Construction started in the year 3391 (370 BCE) but was stopped. Construction resumed in 3408 (353 BCE) and was completed in the year 3412 (349 BCE) - 21 years.

Restoration and renovations on the second Temple began in the year 3742 (19 BCE) and ended in the year 3750 (11 BCE) - 8 years.
