4/5 did not leave Egypt.
Shemot (Exodus) 13:18
So God led the people around [by] way of the desert [to] the Red Sea, and the children of Israel were armed when they went up out of Egypt.
The word for "armed" in the Torah is "חמשים" which can also translate as "one out of five" from the root word "חמש" meaning 5. In other words, only 1/5 of the Israelites departed from Egypt, and the other 4/5 died in Egypt during the 3 days of Darkness.

Moses Led The Jews Out Of Egypt The Jews were led out of Egypt on two different occasions, the first was by moses when the Egyptian faroh chased them out which is discussed in all the religious books, the second occasion was in 1952 when Egypt gained their independence from the british. Most Egyptian Jews escaped to different countries due to hatred from the Egyptian and fear of losing their assets.
The Jews did like Moses, and they still do. Moses gave them freedom. If he hadn't done anything, Israel would probably still be under captivity and may not have had the freedom they have now.
