Luke 15:4 "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?
This parable is about the nation of Israel, they have turned away from God and the Shepherd, Jesus came to turn them back to God.
Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
In the parable of the lost sheep, the shepherd had a total of 100 sheep. When one sheep went missing, he left the 99 to search for the lost one. This story, found in the Gospels, illustrates the shepherd's dedication and the value of each individual, emphasizing that every person is important.

There are many analogies that can be used when talking about sheep. One analogy used with sheep is a starry night.
100, 1 runs away so the sheperd goes out to find that sheep and when he returns with the 1 sheep the other 99 had run away.
That is what they were originally bred for: to work for a shepherd to handle sheep. But many today are just household pets and thus don't work. Collies are still used in many countries as sheep dogs and provide a vital role in the farming industry
This story relates how even though the shepherd has 100 sheep, when he loses one, he searches until he finds the last sheep, even if it means losing his life. This shows that Jesus, the shepherd, will search out every lost person even at great cost.
Well, well, well, looks like we've got some sheep shenanigans going on here. If we cut through the wool, it's simple math. The first shepherd has 16 sheep, and the second shepherd has 24 sheep. Looks like someone's trying to pull the wool over someone's eyes!
