How many non believers are there in the world today?

Everyone in the world doesn't believe in something:

• the absence of a god
  
• global climate change

• the usefulness of vaccines

In the religion and spirituality category, the question generally means how many people don't believe in "god" where "god" actually means the Christian god. In that case, about 2/3 off the world's population does not believe in the Christian god and any of the Christian associated associated tag- along beliefs like Jesus, prayer, heaven, salvation, etc.

First, it must be noted that it is, for various reasons, difficult to pin down a numerical answer. For example, Atheism, nonreligious beliefs, and nontheistic spirituality, all may overlap.

To address the Question:

A 2002 survey by "Adherents" estimates that 14% of world population are secular, non-religious, agnostics or atheists.

A 2004 survey by the CIA in their World Factbook estimates that 2.4% of the world are atheists, with a further 10% being non-religious.

A 2010 Pew Research world report stated that 16 percent of the global population are unaffiliated with a religion. However, this is not identical to plain atheism.

As for the United States, a 2012 Pew study showed that 2.4% clearly identified as being atheist.

The belief in a trinity is widespread through most religions that identify themselves as Christian, but it is not universally accepted. It is not a unique doctrine to Christians since most Hindus also believe that God is a trinity. There are also some pagan and indigenous religions that believe in a triune God. About 1/3 of the world's population at least identifies themselves as Christian, and the majority of those accept the trinity doctrine. Most of the population of India is Hindu. The Demographics of indigenous religions are hard to come by, so my best guess would be about half of the world's population support the belief in a Trinity.
