How many people worship the sun?

this question is hard to answer because each religion has many followers. christians follow the teachings of Christ and is over 2 billion followers and believers. there is over 4 billion that either don't believe in Christ or follow another belief.

However, it is usually not the sun itself that is worshipped, but the god associated with it. Some ancient Near Eastern religions, such as that of the early Egyptians, thought of the sun as a chariot in which the sun god travelled across the sky. We see in Genesis 1:3 that the ancients did not always realise that the sun was the actual source of daylight. And in Genesis 1:16, we see the belief, common in ancient times, that the sun (god) ruled the day, while the moon ruled the night.
