The story says that the wisemen visited Jesus in Bethlehem, but does not say anything beside that it was a very bright and shining star. Some say it was a comet. But the flag of Isarael has a six pointed star. The star was to far away to coint the poimts for sure.

The wise men followed it to Jerusalem and after being told by Herod the Great that the new born King was to be born in Bethlehem the wise men left and "Behold" the star moved over the place where Jesus was Born. (Bethlehem). Regular stars do not do this. This star was HIS star.
