There are also parts in the New Testament that refer back to the Old Testament, to show the passages have been fulfilled. For example:

Having read the entire Bible, I can say that I have not seen a single prophecy of the birth of Jesus. That is not to say that, with some imagination and a great deal of faith, some can not produce an alleged prophecy. I don't think you will find one clear, direct prophecy relating to the Resurrection, but the old testament is scattered with numerous upon numerous symbolic references to Jesus Christ, His mission, and the atonement and redemption of mankind; And if the inspired writings of Moses for instance, which has given the world the book of Geneses were copied correctly and faithfully we would see the name, 'Jesus Christ' used openly with great meaning and power. The Bible is suppose to be a road book to Heaven, but street signs have been changed around and streets blocked off and it's getting dark and dreary and some are running out of fuel and most are getting lost. Back to the question, the temporal laws and Aaronic Priesthood ordinances given by God to Moses and the Israelites in the wilderness were designed to prepare and point the congregation toward the Spiritual law which would come with the birth and mission of Jesus. The temporal laws were to bring the people up to speed so to speak, up to a more spiritually mature, faithful and righteous level of consciousness in preparation to receive the Celestial (saving) law contained in the fullness of the Gospel, which is the law of Heaven, which is the law that was taught by the Lord, which obedience too is prerequisite to returning back to the Kingdom of God in and through Jesus Christ. To put it another way, the canal or temporal laws were designed to prepare the nation of Israel to meet the Son of God and accept the Gospel, and the Gospel is designed to prepare all mankind to meet their Father, God Almighty. Every true prophet of God has prophesied or spoken symbolically of Jesus Christ; either His birth, His mission or death and resurrection; By this we can know who is true and who is false. Geneses 22:1-13 tells the story of God commanding Abraham to scarifies Isaac. This was a similitude of the sacrifice of God's only begotten Son. Exodus 12:1-29 describes the Passover which symbolically points the Israelites to the future when the blood of the Lamb, Jesus, will save them if they are obedient to His words. The sacrificial lamb is used extensively in the words of Moses as he unveiled the laws relating to the Priesthood of Aaron. Symbolic names in the Bible signifying Jesus included: The Lamb, the Light, the Advocate, the Rock, the Good Shepherd, the True Vine, the Word, the Lion, the Cornerstone, the Living Bread, the Amen, the Bright and Morning Star, the High priest, the Bridegroom, Consuming Fire, the Way, the Truth, the Light of Truth and even, I Am.
