Once
Jesus ascended to Heaven once only His ascension to heaven on the evening of his resurrection is described in Luke 22:51. Acts of the Apostles, by the same author but written some time later, also describes the ascension of Jesus to heaven, saying it occurred 40 days after the resurrection.
Jesus remained on the Earth for 40 days after His resurrection. He then ascended into Heaven. Ten days later, on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles and after repentence, upon those who were gathered there.
Jesus mentioned both heaven and hell in his teachings a total of 33 times in the Bible.
There are many reasons why Christians are called Easter. The first is that this day is when Jesus rose from the dead and ascended in to heaven. They celebrate the resurrection and death of Jesus around this time of the year
A special Mass is celebrated with readings about the Ascension Special antiphons (prayers with responses) remind the people that Jesus ascended into heaven to prepare a place in heaven for all faithful believers
Eight times recorded in the KJV Bible
Only once. He died from the crucifixion and the spear thrust was only to check if he really was dead. After this He ascended some days later into heaven back to His heavenly Father, never to die again.
Because he lived a perfect life, taught powerful truth, performed many miracles, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and split history in two.
The precise number of times Jesus mentions heaven in the New Testament can vary depending on the translation used. However, it's generally agreed that Jesus refers to heaven approximately 70 times, with most of these instances occurring in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
The Long Ending* of Mark's Gospel says that Jesus met the disciples at a meal in Jerusalem and, after talking to them, ascended to heaven.Luke's Gospel says that Jesus led the disciples out on the road to to Bethany, where he ascended bodily to heaven, the same evening as his resurrection.Acts of the Apostles, although by the same author as Luke's Gospel, says that Jesus appeared on earth for forty days, providing many proofs that he was risen. He then told the disciples not to leave Jerusalem, and ascended bodily to heaven. This would appear to have been in a room in Jerusalem.Footnote*The Long Ending does not exist in the earliest manuscripts of Mark's Gospel, but was added much later, to more or less harmonise Mark with Matthew and Luke. There was also, at one stage, a "Short Ending".
