The first surah of the Quran in chronological order is Surah Al-Alaq. It consists of verses revealed to the Prophet Muhammad when he received his first revelation from the Angel Gabriel in the cave of Hira. Angel Jibraeel (Gabriel) came to Prophet in form of human said, "Iqra" meaning "read". Prophet said, "I can't read." Angel Gabriel said again, "Iqra.". Prophet replied the same. After three attempts, Gabriel squeezed Prophet and recited the first five verses.
