The so-called "Ten Commandments" recognized in Judaism can be found, in translation, in the Christian "old testament", in both Exodus and Deuteronomy. In fact, the entire "old testament" is a translation of the Torah. Notice the many differences in wording between the two instances of the Ten Commandments, in Exodus and Deuteronomy. There is much to be learned from this comparison.

MOSES, born 250 years after Abraham's death (1593BCE)received the Law 3 months after the exodus from Egypt (Exodus 19:1-3) in 1513 BCE, and died 40 years later, at 120 years old(in 1473 BCE) (Deuteronomy 34:7).

The Book of Genesis concludes with the death of Joseph, which is traditionally dated to around 1800 BCE. The Book of Exodus begins with the Israelites in Egypt, where they have been enslaved. While the exact timeline is debated, it is generally believed that there are about 400 years between the end of Genesis and the beginning of Exodus, as the Israelites are thought to have entered Egypt during a time of famine and remained there until the Exodus.
