From a 'high-level' perspective, the life of Moses divides neatly into three

roughly equal periods. It's all right there in the Book, readily accessible.

Birth to age 40:

In Egypt, raised and living as a member of Pharaoh's royal household.

Age 40 to age 80:

On the run from Egypt, self-exiled, living in Midian, in the household

of Yitro, the Priest of Midian. Marries Yitro's daughter, Zipporah.

Around age 80:

Receives the 'call'. Returns to Egypt to confront Pharaoh, insist on Israel's release.

The Ten Plagues. The Exodus. The crossing of the Red Sea. The 7-weeks' trek

to Sinai. The giving/receiving at Sinai. (If one reads the account in Exodus, it

sure does read as if all of the few million of Israel heard the Ten Commandments

spoken by the voice from within the clouds and lightning that enveloped the

summit of the mountain, that Moses heard it at the same time as everyone else,

and that there was no intermediary.)

Age 80 + next 40 years:

Leading Israel through the wilderness, in preparation for arrival in the

Promised Land.

Age 120:

Moses dies without entering the Promised Land. At age 120,

his sight is not dimmed, and his gait is not impeded.
