Noah was 500 years old when Shem was born, according to the biblical account in Genesis 5:32. This information is part of the genealogy that details Noah's age at the time of the birth of his sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
According to the bible in Genesis 5:32, Noah's son Shem was born. This was before the flood. Abraham was born after the flood. Read Genesis 11:10, it list Shem's descendants. Abraham was one of Shem's descendants. His father was Terah.
According to Genesis 11:10-11, Shem was 600 years old when he died. This part of Genesis has all the hallmarks of fiction, so we should not accept this as Shem's real age even if he was a real, historical person. Noah was 500 years old when he first became a father (Genesis 5:32) and the Flood happened when Noah was 600 (Genesis 7:11). Shem was exactly 100 years old when he became a father, and then lived to 600 years. Too many nice, round numbers.
Shem was Noah's eldest son.
Noah.
There is no direct evidence that Jesus is related to Shem, but some people believe that they may be related indirectly. Shem was one of the sons of Noah, and Noah is a direct ancestor of Abraham, who is a direct ancestor of Jesus. So, if Shem and Noah are related, then Jesus may be related to Shem indirectly. However, there is no way to know for sure if this is the case.
This is a difficulty. Noah's wife could not have three pregnancies all in Noah's 500th year. However, it is said that Noah was 600 when he went into the ark. His son, Shem begot Arphaxad when Shem was 100, two years after the flood. (Gen. 11: 10). This means Noah must have been 502, when Shem was born. Gen. 10: 21 calls Shem the "brother of Japheth the elder" in the NKJV. Some other translations say, “Shem the older brother of Japheth.” So, it is hard to determine the correct birth order. Gen. 9: 24 calls Ham, Noah’s “younger son” in the NKJV. Again, other translations call him the “youngest son.” This still doesn’t address the triplet question, though. Multiple births still emphasize birth order. A lot is made of Esau having the rights of the first-born, even though Jacob is his twin. What could be meant is that Noah was “about 500” when his three sons were born. But this seems a bit unsatisfactory, doesn’t it?
Noah's Ark.Abraham was born ten generations (about 350 years) after Noah, coming through the line of Noah's son Shem(Genesis 11:10-28).
I think you mean son of Noah. Shem was one of Noah's 3 sons who lived on to populate the earth after the global flood of Genesis.
Noah. Genesis 6:9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. Genesis 6:10 And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Gen:9,26 &27 made Canaan slaves to Shem & Japheth
No. The Bible only mentions the three sons in one sentence. It does not say that they were born as twins or triplets and the Bible is explicit when twins or triplets exist (see Jacob and Esau).
Noah, his wife, Shem, Ham, Japeth, and their wives. Eight total.
