Which city? Mormons played a part in the building and founding of hundreds of cities, mostly concentrated in the Western United States. Some of these cities have been very successful and others were not.
It depends on what you term as successful, but I would say the Mormons, since they went into a more hostile environment and made a huge city that is still major today.
