We now know from archaeologists that there had been no city at Jericho for many centuries before the arrival of the Hebrews. From a purely historical perspective, the city of Jericho had long been abandoned, and there was only a small village on the site during the Late Bronze Age. The village had no walls to be measured.
The two Jericho walls are the outer and inner walls of the ancient city of Jericho. The outer wall was a massive defensive structure built to protect the city, while the inner wall provided an additional layer of defense for the inhabitants. These walls played a significant role in the biblical account of the Battle of Jericho, where the walls famously came tumbling down after the Israelites marched around the city for seven days.
A:For this we must rely on the Bible, and the Bible does not tell us how the walls of Jerich fell - merely that they came down. If we seek the answer from archaeology, we find that Jericho was abandoned around 1550 BCE, long before 1400 BCE, the time attributed to the conquest of Jericho and even longer before the Israelites appeared in the Canaanite hinterland. At the time the Bible says Joshua caused the walls to fall, there was really only a small unwalled, mudbrick village on the site.
Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho (and the walls came tumbling down)
The Book of Joshua tells us that Joshua was the leader of the Israelites when he brought down the wall of Jericho merely by having his men march around the city and make a great noise. Archaeologists say that the city had been abandoned a century before the time attributed to Joshua and that there were no walls for Joshua to bring down. They also say there was no military conquest of Jericho, as described in the Bible, at any time in the second millennium BCE.
This phrase refers to the biblical story of the Battle of Jericho from the Book of Joshua. The Israelites, led by Joshua, were instructed to march around the city of Jericho for seven days, and on the seventh day, they marched around it seven times before blowing trumpets. This act of faith resulted in the miraculous collapse of Jericho's walls, allowing the Israelites to capture the city. It symbolizes the power of faith and divine intervention in overcoming obstacles.

Joshua conquered Jericho; and it was God who caused its walls to miraculously collapse (Joshua ch.6). See also:Evidence of the Joshua's conquest of JerichoReliability of the Hebrew BibleMore about Joshua
Joshua 6:20 - So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets; and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. While God commanded Joshua to use the trumpets, they were not what brought down the walls of Jericho--GOD DID in accord with His divine purpose and will and in response to the people's obedience.
Chris Jericho has already came back; he returned on January 9th, 2012.
Oh, dude, the distance around the walls of Jericho was about 1,000 meters. They were like, "Hey, let's march around this place seven times and see what happens." Spoiler alert: the walls came tumbling down. So, like, they didn't need to worry about measuring the distance after that.
The Walls Came Tumbling Down was created in 1997.
