Hazrat Uthman was son in law of H Muhammad saw .
The successors to the Prophet Muhammad were called the Caliphs. Muhammad's father-in-law, Abu Bakr, was elected as the first Caliph. Then came Umar and Uthman. The fourth Caliph was Ali ibn Abi Talib, the cousin and son-in-law to Muhammad, whom the Shi'ites believe to have nominated Ali to be his immediate successor. Disagreement over the succession became a major cause of friction and led to the division of Islam along Sunni and Shia lines.
The rebels assaisinated him while he was reciting the holy Qur'an. He was about 80 years at that time. He was the third Rightful Caliph.
The Sahabi (companion of the Prophet Muhammad) known as "Dunnorain" is Uthman ibn Affan. He earned this nickname, which means "the possessor of two lights," because he was married to two of the Prophet's daughters, Ruqayyah and later Umm Kulthum. Uthman is also recognized for his significant contributions to early Islam, including his role in compiling the Quran.
He was the third Caliph after Muhammad's death, and was killed by the Umayyads.
Islam was spread by Prophet Muhammad pbuh. after his death his companions spread it. most notable are abu bakr, umar bin khatab, uthman gani, and ali pbut
umu kulthum and ruqaya
he was dedicated and Muhammad liked that about him when Muhammad was alive.Answer B (shia view)he claimed Abubakr left a will letter and appointed him as Caliph. but there are some references saying Uthman himself wrote that letter and when Abubakr died Uthman used his stamp to attribute that letter to Abubakr. Anyway he was not selected by God or prophet or people or any meeting or shura. and he was selected by Abubakr.
The outstanding persons in Islam are:1.Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) 2:Abu Bakr(RA) 3.Ali(RA) 4.Uthman(RA) 5.Umar(RA) 6.Hamzah(RA)

the Quran was written on bits of leather and leaves in the time of the Prophet Muhammad but the people who hafised the Surahs/Ayahs as revalation came. The Quran was then written in book form in the time of Hazrath Abu Baqar Saddiq RA and again by Hazrath Uthman. The Quran form we have today is in the writting for of Hazrath Uthman. Please not the quran has never changed. The reason for rewritting it was so that the non arabis could also read it in the same dilect as the arabs
The third Caliph Uthman Ibn Affan.
The daughters of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had notable husbands: Zainab married Abu al-As ibn al-Rabi, Ruqayyah was married to Uthman ibn Affan, who later also married their sister Umm Kulthum after Ruqayyah's death, and Fatimah married Ali ibn Abi Talib. The husbands of his daughters played significant roles in early Islamic history, especially Uthman and Ali, who were both later caliphs.
